There are many good reasons to attend a convention
of private cars and their owners.
This is AAPRCO's 26th annual convention. Since 1977, our members have
been working together to further their common goals and enjoying the modern
era of private car travel. Click here
for some information on our previous annual conventions.
Getting there is always fun when you are traveling on a private car. We are planning a special train of private cars - known as "The AAPRCO 2003 Southern Belle" - from Chicago to New Orleans, via St. Louis, Kansas City, Branson, and Shreveport. We will traver over plenty of "freight only" mileage as well as some "rare" mileage. Two nights and one full day in Branson - "The Live Music Show Capital of the World" - plus several days in New Orleans - "The Big Easy" - should provide music lovers with plenty of entertainment. We are also planning a special train of private cars - known as "The AAPRCO 2003 Panama Limited" - from New Orleans directly back to Chicago.
You can expect all of the customary events: the meetings, the informative technical seminars, and the car parties. This year, instead of a formal banquet, we will have a dinner cruise on the steamboat NATCHEZ underway in the Mississippi River; a calliope and Dixieland band will provide musical entertainment. In addition, we will ride a special train on the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad; our special train will traverse "rare mileage" and the Huey P. Long Bridge. Check out this full slate of convention events and see if there isn't something here for you.
Convention updates will be posted as they are received by your webmaster. The final update was 9/22/2003.
