Description:
Built June of 1949 by the Budd Company. The car was one of a group of four identical cars built for the New York Central Railroad for use on the New England States, the NYC’s premier trains between Boston and Chicago. The car changed hands a number of times until Webb Rail, LLC purchased it in 2012. After substantial mechanical and cosmetic upgrades, the Babbling Brook is again ready for service on Amtrak. Relax in the observation lounge with spacious groupings of comfortable club chairs and sofas, all arranged for unobstructed sightseeing. The car combines the original 1949 luxuries with modern conveniences to create a truly memorable travel experience. Sleeping accommodations for eight in four double bedrooms with lounge seating for up to twenty people. Each bedroom has a bathroom, plus an extra bathroom in the hallway with a shower. Full service kitchen. Generator (for power when not connected to a train). Each room can individually control the air conditioning and heating temperatures. Based out of New York, N.Y.
